book is what you would expect when enjoying a cup of coffee with an expert who happens to be a close friend with a great sense of humor. The insights are explained in such a way that each step is clearly presented without the reader feeling his intelligence is being minimized. I caught the last few minutes of your radio program last week, (10/13/08). What I heard from you relating to the economy and the current financial crisis "rang me bell" so to speak. My interest was peaked to say the least.

Upon arriving home later that evening, I googled your name and found your web page. After listening to your "blogs" and reading your notes, I was intrigued. I learned from your calendar of your speaking engagement the very next morning at the SW School of Real Estate in Scottsdale at 8:30 am. I phoned Susan Sweetow and made arrangements to attend. Note: I am not a licensed real estate broker or agent. I am merely John Q. Public, a self-taught investor, with interests in the investing world.

I arrived early at the Scottsdale Camelback Resort in the hopes of speaking with you prior to your lecture. I shook your hand, purchased your book, "Greed", and spoke with you briefly. Those few words and the look in your eyes re-affirmed my first impressions. You are a man of integrity and one who truly cares about the welfare of the "common" man.

I listened to your lecture, or should I say story telling. I drank from the "cool-aid", which I now call "Buster-Aid". Those short three hours were more informative and instructional than any other book or seminar I have attended in my more than (30) years of investing. I began to understand. My eyes were opened.

I now feel confident moving forward with the knowledge I have gained. You calmed my fears and gave me insight to better understand Wall Street, Main Street, and Washington. With this newly acquired knowledge, I can invest wisely and, at the very least, understand the "working" of the markets and the powers and conditions that affect them.

I thank you. You are a breath of fresh air in an environment of greedy, egotistical, money grubbing bureaucrats, bankers, and money lenders that smell of rotting derivatives and over-valued junk bonds.

Aug 23, 2008 -- I just finished your book "Greed" ... and it has literally turned the light on for me. Over the past 5 years I have read every real estate book in the library but never one that talks about detailed trends/cycles and the "ends and outs" of what effects the industry as far as access to credit, etc. I am not a fast reader but within 24 hours I was done with your book, as I could not put it down. ...The book could not have come at a better time for me.

Apr 4, 2008 -- I have just finished reading The Aftermath of Greed by H.L. Quist. As a long-time financial advisor (see below), I think this book is critically important as a “top-shelf” read for everyone that is seriously interested in their future financial security.

The book exposes the difference between the “Wall Street Hype” distributed by main-street media (aka “politically correct”), and the huge underlying facts that fly in the face of biased information.

For the last 30 years I have advised hundreds of clients about their finances and with increasing frequency, an emphasis has been placed on what we call “safe-money” assets - to help avoid unpleasant future surprises.

I have previously served as a member of the Panel of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association and been asked to speak or write on behalf of a number of prominent organizations including: USA Today, the Chicago Tribune and Chicago Sun Times, CPA Advantage Club, the National Council on Foundations, the National Association of Accountants, the National Council of CPA Practitioners and the National Society of Fund Raising Executives.

Apr 2, 2008 -- I just finished reading "The Aftermath of Greed..." by H. L. Quist and Wow! I am not a person who is very interested in the financial world, but this book held my interest and enlightened my understanding from cover to cover. I know now why I feel the economy is manipulated by forces beyond our control, and what to watch for as the cycle continues. I bought a copy for each of my brothers. Read it.
